Utah State University's Space Dynamics Laboratory has been honored as one of Utah's Top 100 Companies Championing Women 2024 Cohort. This award, issued by the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity in partnership with the Utah Women & Leadership Project, recognizes SDL's efforts to create a work environment that fosters professional growth and advancement for women.

SDL has established programs and policies explicitly designed to acknowledge the unique needs and roles employees have. These initiatives include flexible work arrangements, processes to ensure fair compensation, mentoring and emerging leader programs, and employee and supervisor family growth support packets for navigating work and family leave transitions. By embedding these practices into its corporate ethos, SDL strives for a culture where employees' individual needs and business needs effectively merge.

"We strive to maintain a workplace where we can each do what we do best at work and at home. Each employee has an opportunity to shine and contribute meaningfully," said Sharon Giles, director of human resources at SDL. "We continuously evolve our policies and programs to meet the needs of our workforce and to ensure that all employees have equal opportunities for growth, recognition, and continued success."

In an industry often marked by fast-paced changes and technological advancements, SDL works to promote employee balance and empowers women in science, engineering, and technical fields. SDL established a Women in Technology group, which offers networking, mentorship, and education.

The acknowledgment by the Utah Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity and the Utah Women & Leadership Project reflects dedication from all SDL employees.

As SDL continues to pave the way for future generations, it remains dedicated to its goal to provide a culture of respect, collaboration, empowerment, and delivery for its employees and partners.

Headquartered on Utah State University's Innovation Campus in North Logan, UT, the Space Dynamics Laboratory is a nonprofit organization and a Department of Defense University Affiliated Research Center owned by USU. More than 1,200 dedicated SDL engineers, scientists, business professionals, and student employees solve technical challenges faced by the military, science community, and industry and support NASA's vision to explore the secrets of the universe for the benefit of all. SDL has field offices in Albuquerque, NM; Chantilly, VA; Dayton, OH; Huntsville, AL; Ogden, UT; and Stafford, VA. For more information, visit www.sdl.usu.edu.
