NSN
Naval Research Laboratory Sensor Node

Incorporating the latest electro‐optical, infrared, multi‐spectral, and radar sensors, NSN is designed to provide distributed screening of real‐time, near real‐time and archived data from multiple types of sensors.
SDL produced three different types of ground stations for NSN which include:
Ruggedized Transit Case System
This system was housed in portable transit cases and provided capabilities for screening and printing archived data.
Real-time Capable, Rack-mounted Station
This station processed sensor data from real-time inputs (e.g., direct sensor or data link inputs) and non-real-time inputs (e.g., recorders, tactical links). It also received, displayed, processed, compressed, decompressed, evaluated, exploited, stored, and disseminated processed products via fixed and wireless network interfaces.
SDL produced two versions of the real-time capable ground station: a ground‐based system, and an airborne system designed to operate within a P‐3 aircraft and provide additional interface capabilities
Desktop Screening Station
SDL supplied five desktop screening stations that interface with the ground stations via wireless and fixed networks to receive data, which they process and display.
NSN capabilities were demonstrated at sites in Montana, Georgia, Washington DC, and Maryland.
