Ground Display Stations
SDL has designed and built a variety of ground display stations to provide rapid screening of digital tactical image data from sensors such as SHARP, ATARS/APG-73, LSRS, Global Hawk, ASARS-2A, and SYERS-2A. These stations support imagery analysis and exploitation, aircrew training, mission results validation, target verification, and on-site maintenance assistance.
SDL’s ground stations are usually based on high quality commercial off‐the‐shelf (COTS) components to ensure a cost effective solution, not only for the initial development but also for future sustainment costs.
Our ground display stations support data from multiple sensor formats, including single‐ and multi‐band electro‐optical/infrared (EO/IR), synthetic aperture radar (SAR), hyperspectral (HSI), multispectral (MSI), and full motion video (FMV). They can receive and process data from multiple sources, including live data links, solid-state recorders, tape drives, local drives, and distributed servers.
SDL’s ground stations have been installed in laboratories, aircraft carriers and mounted in HMMWVs. They come in a variety of configurations, including ruggedized and portable, rack mounted, and desktop or laptop PC.

These configurations are all available with SDL’s common Vantage software package, which provides imagery screening and exploitation capabilities and includes web tools for distributed image screening.
