Utah State Research
Foundation Honors Employees
LOGAN - -"2001:
A Space Odyssey" was the theme for the annual Service Appreciation Award
Banquet hosted by the Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) and Utah State University
Research Foundation March 22 in the Taggart Student Center Ballroom.
Employee David E. Morse
was honored for 30 years of service with SDL. An engineer with the Government
Programs Directorate, Morse joined the Electro Dynamics Laboratory, the precursor
to SDL, in July 1971. He earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
from Weber State University in 1971 and completed a master's degree in electrical
engineering from Utah State University in 1974.
Morse cited his involvement
in the Cryogenic Infrared Radiance Instrumentation Project (CIRRIS 1A) for
the space shuttle as "the highlight of (his) professional career."
"One of the reasons
for our success is people like Dave," said Allan Steed, director of SDL.
"You can build on the knowledge and expertise he has obtained over the
years. We appreciate all of his efforts."
Employees Shelia Falslev,
Vaughn Griffiths, Pete Mace and Richard Nelsen were each honored for 20 years
of service. Nine employees received 10-year awards and ten individuals received
5-year awards.
New employees and students
from SDL and the Research Foundation were also honored at the banquet. The
evening was capped off with dinner and a talent show, with talent provided
by the employees and their family members.
The Research Foundation
and SDL would like to extend an appreciation to all their employees for their
strong commitment and hard work.
